About
About Samson Maritime
Samson Maritime is one of Australia's fastest growing maritime support companies with national reach, a fleet of fully-crewed commercial fit-for-purpose workboats, supporting oil and gas, dredging, marine civil engineering and environmental/hydrographic survey projects.
Founded in 2005, the company's head office is located in the West Australian port city of Fremantle. To service our growing client base we have established strategically located bases at Point Samson in Western Australia, Darwin in the Northern Territory, Melbourne in Victoria, and Newcastle in New South Wales. In conjunction with these, we have now opened a regional office in Singapore.
Our comprehensive range of specialised vessels offer clients cost effective maritime support solutions based on a combination of experience and expert marine practice and modern technology.
We also provide vessels to support consulting and quality assurance services, for the implementation of all phases of modern hydrographic and conventional surveys. We can conduct geophysical, sidescan and underwater video seabed studies, together with high density bathymetric surveys from the intertidal zone to offshore locations.
Success built on sound operating principles
Samson Maritime's objectives are:
- To manage our fleet to the highest professional standards, and to continually improve the operations of those vessels and our management systems;
- To implement and adhere to Indigenous Employment Programmes as required by Samson Maritime and our Client;
- To comply with all relevant national and international rules and regulations;
- To maximise the safety of personnel, the vessel, onboard equipment and cargo;
- To comply strictly with environmental regulations;
- To have in place an effective organisational structure to maintain and grow the company's business activities;
- To meet our customers' expectations regarding contractual and operational conditions; and
- To maintain our ISO accreditation.
Through ongoing review of our operations, and benchmarking against our competitors and other similar operations, we seek to identify and implement "best practice" in everything we do.
Our focus on quality
Our focus on delivering quality products and services as well as exceeding quality assurance standards, wherever possible, has ensured that we deliver benefits for our customers as well as the company. We aim to be high quality, safe, reliable "on-budget" and "on-time" maritime support services.
We have integrated the management of our quality, health, safety and environmental obligations using quality systems to ensure that client contractual requirements are met.
Our Company Safety Management System was developed to cover the requirements of the ISM code and ISO 9001-2000, and is audited by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance.
We have also implemented AMOS (our Asset Management Operating System) to assist in managing quality, safety, maintenance and procurement for our operations.
Forecasting our clients' requirements prior to project commencement enables us to ensure client success and compliance with IMO, ISO and ISPS regulations.
Our culture of Occupational Health and Safety excellence
Samson Maritime is unswerving in its commitment to achieving a "zero incident/zero harm" working environment for our valued employees and other stakeholders. This goal can only be achieved by ensuring that the right people are in the right place at the right time and that all stakeholders have a clear and concise understanding of what is required on the project.
Our "zero incident/zero harm" culture involves HAZIDS, inductions, clear and concise procedures, job safety analysis and toolbox meetings, audits, emergency drills and system reviews.
We apply appropriate "duty of care" obligations on every person involved with Samson Maritime, and this sets an expectation for the standards of behaviour expected from all of our people.
Our management team is committed to, and accountable for, the successful application of this management system. The team's role is to lead by example, regularly review the operations of the system, support a process of continuous improvement, and ensure that all Samson Maritime employees fully understand their health, safety and environmental management responsibilities.
Our dedication to environmental protection
Samson Maritime is dedicated to providing a safe, efficient, pollution-free work environment for all employees and customers. Our environmental policy applies to all Samson Maritime vessels. All our employees, contractors and clients are required to operate in accordance with our environmental management policy at all times.
